With a runtime of two hours and ten minutes, The Hurt Locker, is a quasi-documentary focused on a US Army bomb squad who have been deployed in the Middle East. The film which is an action/adventure and drama rolled together is rated R for both language and war violence. It was released on June 26th, 2009 and made $12,647,089 at the box office. Kathryn Bigelow showcases her ability to create a deep and dark sense as she brings the film to the big screen and eventually to your television or computer if you watch movies online. It was filmed in both Kuwait and Jordan as well but produced in the United States. The film stars Jeremy Renner who is not as well known as many actors but gives an amazing performance as Sergeant James.

Although the film is set in Iraq the plot is not about the current crisis in Iraq. The plot is about a soldier who has become addicted to war itself much like a drug causes addiction. This type of solider cannot seem to function in everyday living in situations such as department stores or grocery stores but is able to be complete doing dangerous tasks in a war zone by defusing a multitude of bombs.

Sergeant J.T. Sanborn along with Owen Eldridge are in the middle of crisis where they have to handle homemade bombs. These two place their lives at risk everyday as they are expected to discover and defuse bombs that have the deadly ability to kill not only themselves but their coworkers along with any innocent individuals who are standing in the vicinity. The largest groups of individuals you are surrounded by are on either side of two extremities, some love you and support your cause while others despise you and would like nothing more than to kill you. It is hard to determine what their intent is until the bombs begin exploding and guns begin being shot. Its a dangerous environment to be subjected to day after day.

Jeremy brings a role into reality as he fearlessly takes on situation after situation. He places himself at risk and gives the appearance of having no fear. He searches for the right wires and cuts them to disable the bombs. He even shows his brave side which may be seen as humorous as he takes off his suit for protection so that if he does happen to die during the bomb disablement, he is doing it comfortably. Many feel that he is a hero in Iraq.

Not everyone feels the same way about him though. He is seen as a freak by an officer in higher standing due to the large amount of bombs that he has defused. Some view him as the alpha who must get a challenge in order to be put in his place.

The film has an intense plot line which is only enhanced by the fantastic performances of its star actors and is an A+ film by most standards today of what defines a great film. The Hurt Locker is one of these, make no mistake about it when you are deciding to watch movies online and need a suggestion.
